At the start of January in 2002, a lot happened. Laurie and I took advantage of a great frequent-flyer deal with United Airlines, and headed down to Australia for my 30th birthday and a couple of weeks off. This was the first decent break we'd had in a while, and we had an excellent trip.

Shane's 30th birthday party
Our fishing/camping trip with Dad to Cania Gorge
Flying over the islands in Gladstone
Seeing "Lord of the Rings" in the Cinema-Lounge complex on the Gold Coast
