Our Trip to the Big Island of Hawaii on August 13 to August 20, 2002. Shane and I went on this vacation with another couple, Traci Elliott and Brian Turner (BT) - friends from Shane's work. This is right after we landed and walked into the outside airport terminal we were each greeted official with a lei. Even the men received leis - whether they wanted them or not, but it wasn't long before the girls ended up with two leis each. A woman was holding a sign with our names on it (except she had Ryan for Brian) and then she put a lei around each of our necks. I'd been dreaming about this moment for years!!! The white and yellow leis were made with the plumeria flower which has a wonderful fragrance.

I was ecstatic at this point. You can see the humidity already taking its toll on us and we'd only been on the ground for 10 minutes at this point. |
